Role Overview

The AV Installation Engineer will play a key role in delivering high-quality AV solutions to clients. This involves working on installation projects according to detailed plans, schematics, and schedules. The role requires a focus on precision and efficiency to minimize revisits, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.

The position includes travel across the UK and Ireland, with an average of 60% of the time spent away from home. When away, all expenses, meals, and accommodations are provided, along with an overnight allowance.

This role also includes tasks such as rack building, service and maintenance, fault calls, and training. Administrative duties and adherence to company policies are also key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting site surveys for solution upgrades and new projects.
  • Building and wiring AV racks to high standards.
  • Installing and commissioning AV systems on client sites.
  • Producing and updating project documentation, such as schematics and IP tables.
  • Recording and updating project information in the CRM system.
  • Managing consumables, submitting credit card receipts, and maintaining a tidy company vehicle.
  • Assisting with service visits, live stream monitoring, event setup, and system testing when required.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • At least 4 years of practical AV installation experience.
  • Strong understanding of audio and video signal paths, processing, and distribution.
  • Proficiency in control systems and protocols.
  • Excellent cable termination skills, including soldering and crimping.
  • Experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance, and rack building.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and plans.
  • High attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
  • Full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel/stay away for work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with construction site installations (1st, 2nd, and final fixes).
  • Familiarity with audio-conferencing systems and device configuration (e.g., DSPs, matrix switchers).
  • Relevant qualifications such as CTS/CTS-I, CSCS/ECS, PASMA, IPAF, or Asbestos Awareness.
  • Experience working in heritage or listed buildings.
