As a Design Engineer you will be primarily responsible for acting as a technical consultant to the Sales team, generating functional AV system scopes, high level system flow diagrams as well as equipment lists. In conjunction with the project delivery team you will also be responsible for the technical oversight of a project from award through to completion.

The Role

• Conceptualise System Designs with a consultative engineering approach.
• Site surveying & system design verification.
• Attend project meetings.
• Generate a well-defined functional systems scope of works.
• Develop a project needs analysis documentation.
• Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation.
• Develop high level PDF markups for the Project Engineer to translate into system construction drawings.
• Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients and projects.
• Attend appropriate manufacturer trainings, lunch and learns and online education.
• Maintain current, up to date information regarding developments in the Audio/Visual industry through on going reading of trade publications, attending industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums.
• Review and ratify project Scope of Work (SOW) with the relevant technical stakeholders including with client/end users
• Develop in conjunction with the CAD Team the creation of CAD design drawings of architectural, mechanical, schematics and/or rack build as and when required
• Develop engineering documentation capturing IT Network data and equipment asset list
• Ability to travel to various job sites if required
