Technical Manager

Are you a proven technical team leader or manager?  Or perhaps you are an engineer looking to take the next step into a managerial role?  Join a leading digital signage and network infrastructure specialist as the Technical Manager, responsible for managing the pre-sales and post sales teams.  You must be based in or around the Manchester area.

The Role

As the Technical Manager your responsibilities will include - 

  1. Team Leadership: Supervising and managing a team of technical professionals, including engineers, technicians, and support staff. Providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure productivity and professional growth.
  2. Project Management: Overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of technical projects within specified timeframes and budgets. Coordinating with various stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  3. Technical Expertise: Demonstrating deep understanding and proficiency in relevant technical domains, such as software development, hardware engineering, or manufacturing processes. Providing technical guidance and solutions to resolve complex problems.
  4. Resource Management: Allocating resources effectively to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines. Monitoring resource utilization and making adjustments as necessary to ensure efficient project execution.
  5. Quality Assurance: Implementing and enforcing quality standards and best practices to deliver high-quality products or services. Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
  6. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and uncertainties associated with technical projects and developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Proactively addressing challenges and obstacles to ensure project success.
  7. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborating with internal teams, external vendors, and clients to communicate project progress, milestones, and deliverables. Managing expectations and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance, operational efficiency, and product quality. Implementing new technologies, tools, and methodologies to streamline processes and achieve strategic objectives.
  9. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Staying updated on changes in regulations and proactively implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

The Person

The role suits an individual with industry experience of AV, minimum 5 years. You could be currently working as a senior engineer and looking to take the next step in your career or fulfilling a similar role with demonstrated success of managing team.
