Account Manager - Higher Education
An established technology solutions provider is looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to focus on developing and growing business within the Higher and Further Education (HE/FE) sector.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong track record of selling technology-led solutions — such as AV, UC, or digital learning systems — into the education market. The successful candidate will have the confidence and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders, including CTOs, CIOs and IT Directors, and will understand the dynamics of education procurement and funding.
The Role
- Build and develop relationships with senior decision-makers across universities, colleges and educational consortia.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while managing and expanding existing accounts within the HE/FE sector.
- Lead strategic, consultative conversations to position the organisation as a trusted technology partner.
- Work collaboratively with technical and delivery teams to create tailored solutions that address clients’ operational and teaching needs.
- Represent the company at sector events, exhibitions and networking forums.
- Manage pipeline development, forecasting and reporting to achieve agreed revenue and margin targets.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in selling technology or AV/UC solutions into the HE/FE or wider public sector.
- Strong understanding of the education landscape, including procurement frameworks, budget cycles and funding structures.
- Ability to engage and influence at senior management and CTO/CIO level.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a consultative approach.
- Self-motivated, organised and confident managing a varied portfolio of clients.
Desirable:
- Avixa CTS or equivalent industry qualification.
- Experience in digital learning, smart campus or hybrid teaching environments.
- Existing relationships within UK universities or colleges.
