Commissioning Engineer
A leading provider of digital enablement and collaboration technology solutions is seeking an AV Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of advanced audio-visual systems. The role focuses on the final testing, commissioning, and optimisation of integrated AV solutions, ensuring a high-quality client experience.
You will work closely with Project Managers, installation teams, programmers, and clients to ensure systems operate to specification and industry standards.

The role focuses on the final testing, commissioning, and optimisation of integrated AV solutions, ensuring a high-quality client experience.
You will work closely with Project Managers, installation teams, programmers, and clients to ensure systems operate to specification and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings

Perform point-to-point testing and verification of all system cabling

Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure completeness and installation quality

Test, commission, and troubleshoot integrated AV systems, including AMX/Crestron control and DSP platforms

Upload, download, and make minor updates to control system programs under guidance from engineering

Optimise audio and video performance during commissioning
-
Configure IP-enabled devices and ensure successful network communication

Deliver client training and produce final commissioning documentation

Support Project Managers by acting as a technical liaison when required

Create, track, and close-out project punch lists
-
Travel to various customer sites as needed
Required Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues and clients

Proficient understanding of AV signal flow (audio, video, and control)

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

Experience using test, measurement, and calibration equipment

Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals

Minor programming skills (AMX, Crestron, or similar) for troubleshooting and adjustments

Solid organisational skills and strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines

Advanced PC literacy

Full driving licence

Ability to work at height and handle tools/equipment as required

Minimum of a high-school-level education or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
-
Formal education in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field

5+ years of AV installation or commissioning experience

Experience with video-conferencing ecosystems (Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco, etc.)

Industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS or manufacturer-specific credentials
