The Role
As a Security Systems Design Architect, your expertise will transform initial security designs from the tender stage into tangible on-site deliverables. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of security system solutions and experience in design and build projects. You will be instrumental in developing security designs for tendered proposals, encompassing video surveillance (CCTV), intercom systems, access control, intruder alarms, and perimeter detection.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Solutions Design: Develop and refine security designs, ensuring they meet relevant standards and codes of practice. Produce technical submittals, RFIs, and variation costings. Client Engagement: Represent the company at client meetings, delivering post-tender presentations and managing client project workshops.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain technical and commercial documentation, updating project financials and BOMs.
- Team Support: Provide technical assistance, mentor colleagues, and support the Design Development Manager in achieving team objectives.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Minimum five A-C (4-9) GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- Valid DBS Check.
- Experience in designing security systems solutions.
- Familiarity with electronic security systems from manufacturers like Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, CCure, Gallagher, Genetec, CEM, Honeywell, Zenitel, and Commend.
- Experience in enterprise, data centre, and campus fit-out projects.
Desirable:
- Accreditations from recognised manufacturers and memberships in relevant security industry bodies.
- Awareness of audio-visual, ICT infrastructure, IoT, and network architecture.
