The Opportunity
Our client is a growing Live Event and Production company. Their customers include Formula 1, constructing viewer experiences in hospitality suites, paddocks, garages and factories, working closely with suppliers to deliver pioneering technology and integrate innovation into everything they do. They also provide AV technology across festivals, concerts, conferences, theatre and dance, working with major London venues including Southbank Centre, Barbican and Sadler's Wells.
We are looking for a Head of Operations to take day-to-day operational management of the business. Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a senior leadership role providing hands-on oversight across freight, warehousing, purchasing, stock control and operational systems. You will act as the operational right-hand to the Operations Director, ensuring processes are robust, teams are accountable, KPIs are delivered, and operational risk is minimised.
This is a pivotal role designed to improve structure, performance visibility and cross-department coordination as the business continues to scale, requiring strong leadership capability, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
What You Will Be Doing
Overseeing daily operations across Freight, Warehouse, Purchasing and Stock & Systems
Providing direct line management to operational managers and team leads
Implementing and monitoring KPIs across all operational areas
Driving accountability and performance culture throughout the department
Acting as escalation point for operational challenges, resolving issues effectively
Ensuring freight operations are commercially controlled and margin protected, improving cost control, shipment planning and performance tracking
Overseeing performance of the warehouse function including a new warehouse facility, and supporting recruitment of a Warehouse Manager within 6 months
Ensuring stock accuracy, inventory control, operational efficiency and high health & safety standards
Supporting development and recruitment of a Supply Chain Manager within 6 months
Improving supplier management and purchasing processes, introducing forecasting and demand planning frameworks
Driving cost efficiencies and margin improvement initiatives
Working closely with Stock & Systems and Data teams to improve reporting accuracy, introducing operational dashboards and a structured reporting cadence
Reviewing and improving operational workflows, standardising procedures across departments
Building a structured, high-performing operations team, mentoring and developing managers and coordinators
Who We Are Looking For
Proven experience in a senior operations management role
Strong leadership and people management capability
Experience overseeing multi-functional operational teams
Commercially astute with strong financial awareness
Confident implementing KPIs and performance frameworks
Highly organised with strong problem-solving ability
Experience improving systems and processes in a growing business
Desirable: experience within live events, AV, logistics or technical production environments; experience in freight, supply chain or warehouse operations; knowledge of inventory management systems
